Founded in 2004 by Artistic Director Richard Scerbo, Inscape performs concerts that aim to engage audiences and provide a compelling way to explore both standard and non-standard works. Configured as the Inscape Chamber Music Project, ensemble members incorporate these same principles in concerts that navigate the vast depths of the chamber music repertoire.

Inscape's continuing commitment to performing new works by emerging American composers has resulted in numerous world premieres.  In recent seasons, Inscape has performed new works by Justin Boyer, Joseph Hallman, Nathan Lincoln-DeCusatis, and many others.

Inscape members regularly perform with the National, Philadelphia, Virginia, Richmond, and Delaware symphonies, the Washington Opera Orchestra, and are members of the premiere Washington service bands.  Inscape alumni are currently members of orchestras across the United States.

Inscape is the Ensemble-in-Residence at The Episcopal Church of the Redeemer in Bethesda, Maryland.  The church's superb acoustic and ambiance make it a wonderful place to perform and experience concerts.  During the 2010 - 2011 season, Inscape will performed at the National Gallery of Art and the Robert E. Parilla Performing Arts Center.
